About Your Teachers
Ms. KD: I grew up on the South Side of Des Moines and went to Lincoln High School. There I was involved in Volleyball, Track, Choir, and the National Honor Society. I went to Wartburg College in Waverly, IA to get my BA in Biology Education, I played one year of volleyball there and sang in the Wartburg Choir. I taught in Waterloo, IA for 5 years before moving back to Des Moines. While teaching in Waterloo I got my MAE at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). This is my 12th year of teaching. I LOVE traveling, sports, animals, and nature! I have a dog named Mason and a tortoise named Leo. Green is my favorite color. I am a fan of all Chicago teams: Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, and Bulls. I am so happy I moved back to Des Moines so I could spend more time with my family! I won't ever turn down coffee or ice cream!!

Mrs. Rosas: I am from Jalisco, Mexico. I moved to Iowa in 1994. I grew up in Storm Lake, Iowa. I started school as a Non-English speaker. I had many teachers that helped me through my journey. I graduated from Storm Lake High School. I went to William Penn University in Oskaloosa, IA to get my BA in Education. I taught in Storm Lake, IA for 5 years before moving to Des Moines. I have been teaching for 10 years as an ELL teacher. I Co-Teach with Ms. KD and Mr. McEwan. I enjoy learning from our students. I love spending time with family!
